If they’d priced it closer to 4K rather than 5k (gbp), most here would have had little issue

B&O is a worldwide 'luxury' brand, with a premium price point, expensive dealers to maintain and, more important, dealers who expect a certain amount of revenue from a TV sale.

That's why that premium is in place. One thing I do agree that it's a shame the Stage has never been updated to support WISA or connecting to other B&O speakers - seems like a missed opportunity for me. A lack of PUC support means no Sky Q control.

However, once you start adding these, the Stage would move up a level or two and become closer to a £2000 soundbar.

I guess what B&O could have done is release a Stage and a Stage+, where the Stage+ has a higher price point, but same design, just more functionality for existing users and those wanting to connect to their other speakers.

Wow, this is indeed excellent! I really like the design and it seems like a great addition!

Good: NL, airplay 2

Not good: No wisa, no external speakers, no 55” variant

Questions for the ones who’s seen it?

* Can i play music via airplay 2 or NL without turning the tv on?

* Is the beoremote natively supported? Both or only the BT version?

* Does it support cec or do i need a puc to control my apple tv?

* Can i “hide” the apple tv inside the contour? i think this was possible with one of the previous ones?

I agree with everything here. If the stage included the above I would be more than happy to pay £2-3K+ for a stage+.

I do not understand the beovision or not discussion. I say to all : what is an LG plus Stage combo? It is a big black rectangle with an soundbar. I do no want an big black rectangle in my living room. Never.

The contour is a television series n a good old tradition. It has a frame.

Wireless is not so good as wired. So wisa is not a option for me. My beolab 18 are plugged in my bs 9000. the bs 9000 is plugged to an core. My rega record player is also plugged to the core.

With the contour I can via join connect to the contour. Everything will be fine. Good sound for music and good picture and sound for tv.

What’s the problem? Also on the contour i will use an Apple TV. This can also stream via ap2 to the core. And I will see my Apple TV. Why should I hide this? Have you ever hide your vhs or dvd recorder in your tv?

And cec ... how many old cec stuff you use. I have one. An old blue ray player. I use it sometimes, because the most I have bought in iTunes Store.

Today are more possibilities. So a tv can do one thing: make a good picture.

Wat is CEC?

I only use apple TV for Netflix streaming, but that is possible in the native LG webOS, so no more need for AppleTV for me.

Does anybody know if the software of the Contour has some B&O layer or would you only see native LG software, menus and logo's?

CEC = Consumer Electronics Control. It enables control of devices connected to the hdmi.

The operating system on the TV is LG standard so only native menus and logos.

My dealer told me there is a B&O logo and menu. He might be not yet up to date with contour. Is there difference between Exclipse and Contour on how native B&O app / menu is stored on to the LG TV?

I saw the Contour yesterday at B&O Harrods.

Looks decent enough. Not sure of the silver finish though. Really needs the darker frame.

But, looks solid and seamless. No-one outside this board would know it's a CX + Stage.

Indeed - i saw the Contour today too for the first time (in the Islington store).

In silver - meh....needs to be the black / wood version.

Others may know for certain but since this is a Stage and an LG screen, the integration in terms of menus should be minimal (if any) comparing to Eclipse.

I’m very seriously considering to pull the trigger.

Not sure i can handle an LG logo at this price point. It would make me feel every time i watch tv that i overpaid ;) Can anyone confirm whether a LG logo is visible when turning on / off the television and in the web os?

Consensus seems the smoked oak version looking best?

Anyone has experience with b&o wall mounts? So i need to use the “moving” one or can i just simply put it against the wall with a mount without any movements being possible?

Surely there will be an LG logo?

Why wouldn't there be?

It will be the same as for the Eclipse and Harmony, in that all 3 use LGs web OS

Eclipse boots with Bang & Olufsen logo for just a few seconds due to fast bootup time. There is no LG logo on the OS, but it is LG’s interface of course.

Not sure if I remembered but Harmony does not have the logo anymore due to even faster bootup.

The Contour should either have no start up logo or a B&O logo imo. Also I wonder if you can adjust sound settings through the tv interface or that you need to app to do it on the Stage. In other words is it a Beovision (light) or are you constantly reminded that it are two different products with its own setup interface

BV Harmony 65 / Eclipse 55 / BL 50 / 19 / 18 / BS 2 all brass

BV Horizon 48 / V1 40 / BL 17 / Beoplay S3 all black

V1 / BL 3 / BS Essence MKII / Beoplay A3 all white

BS Moment / BS 3000 / BS 3200 / BL 400 all silver

Headphones / bluetooth speakers / BLC NL-ML / BLGateway

I know…B&O virus has grown on me !

I guess you need to adjust settings through the B&O app, as stock WebOS does not offer such functionality. But I don’t see that as an issue, as this is the case for several products and I suppose the app will recognise it as a Contour and not a Stage...

Sounds good! I wouldn’t mind to adjust through the app. Also, i can live without a b&o as long as it doesn’t start with an LG logo and doesn’t display the LG logo in the UI. I’m getting closer to the purchase ;)

I might be missing something, but startup procedure aside, the main UI is all LG's web OS

There is no escaping that - it's the bright colored UI, the very same you see on any LG OLED. Today's Beo visions are just a (functionally) LG consumer TV with added B&O sound part, and the ability to use the BeoRemote.

Not a bad combination by any means, but you don't get a B&O UI only anymore

That’s true.

But I think—given the fluidity of TV technology—that B&O’s decision to focus on delivering the best B&O user and sonic experience—with a premiere brand like LG, is definitely worth the money asked. There are more than a few paths to get the buyer into a price point they are comfortable with without sacrificing what the core of B&O has always been about: The sonic and design experience.

Cant say on the Contour, but I have the new Eclipse ver. 2, and there is no logo at all when starting up. No B&O, no LG.

The TV is an LG, it comes in a LG box. It is exactly the same TV you buy in Currys/Walmart (select your own budget Electrical retailer)  -  why would it start up with a B&O Logo?

It's literally an LG CX in a frame with a Stage. Nothing more, nothing less. No integration at all. No different from my LG GX + Stage combination!

Also, you don't get obvious LG logos or similar even on the CX/GX. It's fairly subtle.

However, like I said earlier in the discussion, 95% of people outside of this board would never know it isn't a B&O TV. It really does look seamless. The design is fairly impressive considering it's 3 separate components combined together. It's hard to know it's using the Stage. Just looks like a TV speaker. You don't see the Stage frame at all.

3 separate components? Does that mean 3 mains leads? Not really all in one system then! 😁

I am sure at least the aluminium frame/stand won’t need a mains lead 😉

I’ve ordered one. Said it would be delivered 2021-01-27. Will report back. As for wisa drop. Wisa is lousy in my opinion.  I’ve had a transmitter con be yes to my tv with a pair of beolab 20s and it’s been more headaches than bliss. If you want surround it’s probably possible to buy a beolab reviver , and hook that up to the 3,5 mm port on the stage and then buy and a wisa soundsend  or a transmitterr 1 that you hook up to the tv.  However. I’m guessing airplay 2 and or chrome cast will come with it’s own surround some time soon.

I hadn't thought about that option with the Transmitter 1, not a bad idea.  I'm also guessing they will come out with the option of chromecasting from a TV to speakers (the other way around) eventually.  Prob why WISA has come out with the SoundSend.

Congrats on the Contour, not too long to go for the delivery and install.  🙌

I’d wish the same, but have some doubts. Airplay-2 does not even yet support stereo-pairing for b&o / non-apple devices. Long way to see support for surround...

Hi how does anyone who has purchased one find it?

I am about to order one in silver with a wooden frame but most likely attach to a 6-26 stand with a specific STB adapter.

I have no issues re the lack of functionality; the sound is more than sufficient for my needs and I love the retro design. Incidentally my Dealer advises that the panel is covered for 5 yrs by LG

I have mine at the Office. It looks good but I don’t like the LG user interface and I think the Beo remote even though it’s fantastic to hold/looks great has a lot to ask for when it comes to features and modern functionality.

When buying this product, you are buying an LG tv and a good sound system witch is 40-50% of the price. Then the rest of it is the framing of the tv. I think the framing is worth the prize if that’s what you want. But remember that it is the framing you are paying top dollar for. Choosing between this and a pre owned beovision 11 or 10 46” I’d have bought the old tv any day now that I have it.

I have bought a Contour and I am super happy with it. I have the Gold/Oak version👍🏼
The image and sound is amazing, and I managed to place the Apple TV in the «hole» on the back of the speaker. I have it on the wall with all cables hidden. When I turn on the tv, it goes directly to Apple TV, so I never need to see the LG UI.

My only negative feedbacks is;

- the standbylight (can be turned off, but blinks on startup) is a blurry dot. Not a sharp dot or line.

- It didnt come with a user manual

- When you try to change color on the product in the B & O app, it turns up as Beosound Stage
